TML Remit Mobile App Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the TML Remit Mobile App provided by TML Remittance Center Sdn. Bhd.

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully. By registering an account, accessing or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern the access to and use of the TML Remit Mobile App ("App"), which is provided by TML Remittance Center Sdn. Bhd. ("TML").

By registering an account, accessing or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, you must discontinue the use of the App immediately.

2. Definitions

For the purpose of these Terms and Conditions:

  • App means the TML Remit Mobile App.
  • TML means TML Remittance Center Sdn. Bhd.
  • Customer means any individual who has successfully registered an account with the App.
  • Transaction means any international money transfer initiated through the App.
  • Beneficiary means the intended recipient of the transferred funds.
  • KYC means the Know Your Customer verification process required by TML.

3. Eligibility

To use the App, you must:

  • Provide complete, accurate and up to date information.
  • Register using a valid mobile number or email address.
  • Successfully complete the KYC verification process.
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

TML reserves the right to reject or refuse any registration application at its sole discretion.

4. Account Registration

Customers are responsible for ensuring that all registration information provided is accurate and complete.

Upon registration, customers must:

  • Verify their mobile number or email address using the One-Time Password (OTP).
  • Create and maintain a secure password.
  • Complete all required KYC verification before using TML remittance services.

TML may request additional documents or information at any time for verification purposes.

5. Identity Verification (KYC)

All customers must complete the Know Your Customer (KYC) identity verification process before accessing certain services.

Identity verification may be conducted through physical verification at the nearest TML branch with the required original identification documents, or through digital electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC) solutions embedded within the App, subject to Bank Negara Malaysia's regulatory limits and TML's internal risk assessments.

For new customers, where in-App e-KYC is unavailable or where otherwise required by TML, identity verification must be completed by visiting the nearest TML branch with the required original identification documents.

For existing customers who register through the TML Remit Mobile App, customers may be required to contact or visit the nearest TML branch to complete the KYC approval process before any transaction can be performed.

TML reserves the right to:

  • Request additional identification documents or supporting information.
  • Conduct further verification or due diligence where necessary.
  • Reject, suspend or delay any KYC application if the information provided is inaccurate, incomplete, inconsistent or cannot be verified.
  • Require customers to attend any TML branch for further identity verification or regulatory compliance purposes.

Approval of KYC is subject to TML internal policies, regulatory requirements and applicable laws. Completion of the KYC submission through the Mobile App does not constitute approval until the verification process has been completed and approved by TML.

6. Use of the Mobile App

The App shall only be used for lawful purposes.

Customers shall not:

  • Register using false or misleading information.
  • Use another person identity or account.
  • Attempt to interfere with or compromise the App security or operation.
  • Use the App for fraudulent, illegal or unauthorized activities.

TML reserves the right to suspend or terminate access where misuse is detected.

7. Account Security

Customers are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their:

  • User ID
  • Password
  • OTP
  • Biometric authentication (where enabled)

Customers must notify TML immediately if they suspect unauthorized access or fraudulent activity. Until such notification is received, TML may treat all transactions made through the customer's account as authorized.

8. International Money Transfer Services

Customers are responsible for ensuring that all transaction details are accurate before confirming a transfer, including:

  • Beneficiary full name.
  • Bank account number or collection details.
  • Destination country.
  • Transfer amount.
  • Purpose of transfer.
  • Source of funds.

TML shall not be responsible for losses arising from incorrect or incomplete information provided by the customer.

9. Exchange Rates and Fees

Exchange rates displayed in the App are subject to change without prior notice.

The applicable exchange rate shall be the rate confirmed by TML at the time the transaction is processed.

Applicable service charges and fees will be displayed before the customer confirms the transaction.

10. Payment

Payment may be made using the payment methods made available by TML from time to time. TML reserves the right to add, remove or modify any payment method without prior notice.

11. Transaction Rejection or Suspension

TML reserves the right to refuse, delay, suspend or cancel any transaction where:

  • Customer identity cannot be verified.
  • Required information or supporting documents are incomplete.
  • The transaction is suspected to involve fraud, money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions or any unlawful activity.
  • The transaction is prohibited by applicable laws or regulatory requirements.
  • TML receives instructions from the relevant authorities.

12. Cancellation and Refund

Cancellation and refund requests are subject to TML review, verification and approval.

Customers may be required to visit the nearest TML Remittance Center branch to:

  • Verify their identity.
  • Submit supporting documents.
  • Complete refund documentation.
  • Resolve transaction-related issues.
  • Provide additional information or clarification required for investigation purposes.

Refund requests may be rejected where:

  • The transaction failure results from incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete information provided by the customer.
  • The transaction has already been successfully processed, paid out or credited to the beneficiary.
  • The cancellation or refund request is rejected by the receiving bank, payout partner, correspondent agent or any overseas financial institution.
  • The transaction is not eligible for cancellation or refund in accordance with TML policies, operational procedures, or applicable regulatory requirements.

Applicable fees and service charges may not be refundable under any circumstances.

13. Branch Visit Requirement

Certain services cannot be completed solely through the App.

Customers may be required to visit the nearest TML Remittance Center branch for purposes including, but not limited to:

  • KYC verification.
  • Updating customer information.
  • Beneficiary verification.
  • Transaction investigation.
  • Cancellation requests.
  • Refund processing.
  • Submission of supporting documents.
  • Any matter requiring physical verification.

14. Customer Support

Customers experiencing difficulties while using the App should contact TML Customer Service through the official communication channels. Where necessary, customers may be instructed to visit the nearest TML Remittance Center branch for further verification or assistance.

15. Limitation of Liability

TML liability shall be limited to the value of the relevant money transfer transaction, subject to applicable laws.

TML shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or special loss or damage arising from:

  • Incorrect information provided by customers.
  • Delays caused by recipient banks or payment partners.
  • Network or internet failures.
  • System maintenance or technical interruptions.
  • Actions or omissions of third party service providers.
  • Government actions.
  • Events beyond TML reasonable control.

16. Compliance with Laws

Customers shall comply with all applicable laws and regulations relating to international money transfers.

TML reserves the right to monitor, investigate, suspend, reject or report transactions where required under applicable Anti-Money Laundering, Countering Financing of Terrorism, Countering Proliferation Financing, and Targeted Financial Sanctions (AML/CFT/CPF and TFS) laws, regulations and Bank Negara Malaysia requirements.

17. Personal Data

Customers acknowledge that TML may collect, use, process, store and disclose personal information for purposes including:

  • Customer verification.
  • Transaction processing.
  • Regulatory compliance.
  • Fraud prevention.
  • Customer support.
  • Other purposes permitted by law.

Personal data will be handled in accordance with TML's Privacy Policy and the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) of Malaysia.

18. Electronic Communications

Customers agree that notices, transaction confirmations, OTP, alerts and other communications may be delivered electronically through the App, SMS, email or other communication channels approved by TML. Such communications shall be deemed received once successfully transmitted.

19. Amendments

TML reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time.

The latest version will be made available through the App and shall take effect from the date specified by TML. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms and Conditions.

20. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia.

Any dispute arising from the use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.

21. Acceptance

By registering, accessing or using the TML Remit Mobile App, customers acknowledge that they have read, understood and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.

Customers further acknowledge that TML may require them to visit a TML Remittance Center branch for identity verification, customer information updates, beneficiary verification, refund processing, transaction investigation or any other matter requiring physical verification or supporting documentation.
